Assistant Manager, Production Planning & Control
Atlas Honda · Pakistan’s largest motorcycle manufacturer (1.4M+ units a year)
Production planning, materials coordination, SAP PP, export planning and operational improvement on two frame production lines running a ~19.8-second cycle time, supporting a 4,650-unit-a-day build programme. Functional supervision of four PPC staff.
- Production planning: converted sales requirements into daily and monthly schedules, balancing model mix, colour sequencing, line capacity, working days, planned shutdowns, overtime and lot sizes (typically ~200 units, with larger minimums for some models).
- Materials & shortages: seven-day forward shortage visibility across ~1,100 actively monitored parts, on models carrying 1,300+ BOM components; expedited gaps with Supply Chain, Stores and the Karachi plant.
- SAP PP super user for six departments: production orders, BOMs, routings, production versions, material master, planned order conversion, MD04 and missing-parts checks, and monthly production closing.
- SAP S/4HANA preparation: helped prepare and review production-planning master data (BOMs, routings, work centres, production versions and planning parameters) for the move from SAP ECC.
- Inventory policy: safety stock review across 3,000+ components that identified ~PKR 50M of inventory that could be released.
- Export packing: contributed to an SAP framework for CKD/SKD export packing (2 packing variants, 7 models), lifting packing capacity from ~450 to ~540 units a day.
- Dec 2023 — May 2024
Management Trainee Officer, PPC
Atlas Honda · Graduate management trainee scheme
Rotated through Production, Supply Chain and Inventory Control and learned SAP PP end to end. Promoted to Assistant Manager after about six months, ahead of the scheme’s normal progression.
- Automated multi-source shortage reporting: ~60 minutes to 5–10 minutes per run, removing 10+ hours of manual work a week.
- Rebuilt the export planning workbook around one structured input with automated lot and invoice allocation: preparation fell from 6–7 hours to about 1.

SAP on a live production line, not in a classroom
Central MRP runs sat with the planning function; my job was to read the outputs, check component availability and turn them into production decisions. These are the areas of SAP I used to do that.
Production orders
Create, change and review orders, confirm output and monitor status
CO01CO02CO03CO11NCOOISBOMs
Review and maintain bills of materials, check where-used and multi-level structures
CS01CS02CS03CS11CS15Routings & versions
Routings, work centres and production versions behind every planned order
CA01CA02CA03C223MRP & availability
Read the stock/requirements position and check planned orders before they reach the line
MD04MD05MD41Stock & movements
Trace goods issues, consumption and stock to explain a variance or a shortage
MB51MB52MIGOMaterial master
Check and correct the planning data a material carries
MM01MM02MM03Who a production plan has to satisfy
Planning meant resolving competing priorities between sales demand, available materials and manufacturing constraints, every day.
